The South Central Regional Safety Coalition partnered with Frisard Companies to create a PSA design graphic to inspire others to help prevent distracted driving, which will be placed on over 200 of Frisards trucks. This competition is statewide, and schools across Louisiana are in competition to win first, second and third place. The Safety Coalition wants to see one of Louisiana's local high schools place and have their graphic placed on these trailers spreading the message to end distracted driving. This is a great opportunity for all Louisiana schools and their students.
My design has a road going vertical. In the middle, there is a tombstone with a steering wheel that has round about and a yellow horn in the middle. I typed "Be Aware, Be Very Aware" in the 4 empty spots of the steering wheel; "Be Aware" in the top, "Be" in the left, "Very", in the bottom, and "Aware" on the right. I also typed "Help Prevent Distracted Driving!" I came up with it when I remembered the words "Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid". I choose this saying because drivers need to be aware of their surrounding at all times.
I feel it is important to bring awareness to distracted driving because so that we can know what we're doing and be safe. Since this was a PSA for driving, I felt fit that my design should include driving elements, like a vertical road for a background, a steering wheel, and a round-about. I made that tombstone to show what will happen when drivers get distracted.
